Incorporating with SECP

Online incorporation is fast, but every field you fill in becomes your company's legal record

SECP's eZfile portal has made incorporation in Pakistan largely paperless. But the details entered there, from objects and share capital to directors and addresses, become your company's constitution and public record, and mistakes take formal filings to correct.

Under the Companies Regulations, 2024, which took effect in February 2024, promoters create user accounts on eZfile, reserve a company name and complete the incorporation application, either on its own or combined with name reservation. Form-1 and the memorandum and articles of association are generated online. Copies of the subscribers' CNICs or passports are attached, each director and subscriber signs with the 4-digit PIN issued when their account was created, and the fee is paid online. The application then goes to an SECP officer, and the certificate of incorporation is issued digitally and emailed.

Our service covers the filing itself, done properly. If you are still deciding what kind of company to form, start with company registration. If you want the full package, including NTN, bank account support and first filings, choose company incorporation.

We regularly see eZfile applications returned for avoidable reasons: a restricted word in the name, a missing signature or objects that do not match the business.

Risks we prevent

Why eZfile applications get returned

Most rejections and delays come from a small number of avoidable issues.

01

Restricted words in the name

Words like Group, National, Finance or Investment are only allowed in limited cases or with approval.

We screen names before reserving.
02

Names too close to existing ones

Differences in spacing, punctuation or plurals do not make a name distinct under SECP's rules.

We check for resembling names.
03

Expired name reservation

A reserved company name is held for 60 days and cannot be extended.

We file well inside the window.
04

Missing signatures

Every director and subscriber must sign with their PIN before the application can be submitted.

We coordinate every signatory.
05

Objects that do not fit

An objects clause that does not match the business causes questions from SECP, banks and regulators.

We describe your business accurately.
06

Post-incorporation steps missed

The registered office within 30 days and share allotment within 45 days follow straight after.

We file those too.

FAQs

SECP incorporation questions we hear most

Have a question that is not here? Send it to us on WhatsApp and we will reply the same day.

What is eZfile?
eZfile is SECP's online portal for company and LLP registration and filings. Promoters create user accounts, reserve names, file incorporation applications and pay fees on it, and SECP issues certificates of incorporation digitally.
How long is a company name reserved on eZfile?
According to SECP's guidance, a company name is reserved for 60 days and an LLP name for 30 days. The reservation cannot be extended, so if it expires you need to apply again, provided the name is still available.
What documents are needed for SECP incorporation?
Copies of the CNICs or passports of the promoters and subscribers are attached to the application. Form-1 and the memorandum and articles of association are generated on eZfile from the details you enter. Foreign subscribers may need additional documents.
Does every subscriber need to sign the application?
Yes. Each director and subscriber signs the application using the 4-digit PIN issued when their eZfile account is created. The application cannot be submitted until everyone has signed.
How do I receive the certificate of incorporation?
Once an SECP officer approves the application, the digitally signed certificate of incorporation is emailed to you and can also be downloaded from your eZfile account.
Can I combine name reservation and incorporation?
Yes. eZfile allows a standalone incorporation application after reserving a name, or a combined application that includes the name request. We recommend the option that suits your timeline.
What happens after incorporation?
The company must notify its registered office within 30 days and file a return of allotment within 45 days of issuing shares. It also needs its FBR tax profile, a bank account and a beneficial ownership register. Our company incorporation package covers these.
How much does SECP incorporation cost?
SECP's incorporation fee depends on the authorised capital, and name reservation has a small separate fee. Our professional fee is fixed. Your first consultation is free.
