Tax obligations map
Which registrations apply to your activity, structure and locations.
A new business can need several tax registrations at once: income tax with FBR, sales tax on goods, sales tax on services with ICT or a province, and withholding agent obligations. We work out which apply to you and complete them together.
Pakistan's tax system is split between FBR, which handles income tax and sales tax on goods, and the provinces and ICT, which handle sales tax on services. A business that sells goods and services in more than one place can end up dealing with several authorities from its first month.
Every business needs income tax registration with FBR on IRIS: individuals use their CNIC as NTN, while AOPs and companies receive a 7-digit NTN. Suppliers of taxable goods may need sales tax registration through Form 14(1) on IRIS, with GPS-tagged premises photographs and biometric verification at NADRA e-Sahulat within 30 days. Providers of taxable services register with FBR for Islamabad Capital Territory or with PRA, SRB, KPRA or BRA in the provinces.
Registration also brings obligations. Many businesses become withholding agents, required to deduct tax on certain payments under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, and employers deduct tax on salaries. We map your obligations before registering, then handle the filings through our income tax registration, sales tax registration and withholding tax compliance services.
