New name screening
Proposed names checked against SECP's restricted and resembling name rules.
Rebranding, merging or simply outgrowing your company's name? We check the new name against SECP's rules, pass the special resolution, obtain SECP's approval and new certificate, and update FBR, your bank, PSEB, contracts and licences.
Changing a company's name is a rebrand, not a restart. The company keeps its incorporation number, NTN, contracts, assets, liabilities and history. What changes is how it is recorded everywhere, and that is where things are often missed.
A company changes its name by special resolution of its members, subject to SECP approving the new name. The new name is checked against the same rules as a new company: it must not be identical to or resemble an existing name, and restricted words such as Group, National, Finance or Investment are allowed only where the conditions are met. Once SECP approves, it issues a certificate of incorporation in the new name, and the company must use the new name on its documents.
The change then needs to flow through to FBR, your bank, PSEB, chambers, licences, insurers, landlords, clients and suppliers. Invoices, letterheads and your website should show the new name, and for a period it helps to show the former name too. We handle the corporate filings with the same naming checks as our company name reservation service, and coordinate the updates.
A fixed fee for the full change, from name check to updated records.

Using a new name on invoices before SECP approves it creates a mismatch with your legal identity.
We time the switch correctly.Small changes in spelling or spacing do not make a name distinct under SECP's rules.
We screen names first.Words like Group or Finance need conditions or approval, even on a name change.
We flag them upfront.Invoices in a new name against an old FBR record cause input tax and withholding problems.
We update FBR straight away.Clients paying the new name into an account in the old name can face rejections.
We prepare the bank update.Licences and key contracts left in the old name cause confusion later.
